Middelburg Mall, located in the heart of Mpumalanga, South Africa, is a popular shopping and entertainment destination known for its modern design, spacious layout, and family-friendly environment. The mall attracts a diverse audience, including families, students, and casual visitors, making it an ideal location for recreational and leisure facilities.

Flying Bowling recently completed a 12-lane Standard Bowling installation at this venue, creating a modern, high-performance bowling facility capable of handling heavy daily traffic. The project required a turnkey approach, including lane design, equipment production, on-site installation, system commissioning, and staff training. Flying Bowling’s objective was to deliver a professional-grade bowling venue that integrates seamlessly into the mall’s interior and operational environment while providing a high-quality, enjoyable experience for visitors.

Flying Bowling began the project with a thorough site assessment, reviewing architectural drawings, floor plans, and site photographs. Key factors such as floor flatness, load-bearing capacity, ceiling height, and service access points were evaluated to ensure compatibility with standard bowling specifications.

Based on this assessment, Flying Bowling developed a tailored layout for 12 lanes, optimizing space for both players and spectators. Seating arrangements, waiting areas, and circulation paths were carefully designed to provide a comfortable and engaging experience for visitors.

To minimize disruption, Flying Bowling coordinated with mall management to schedule off-peak installation windows and pre-plan delivery routes. Electrical systems, lighting systems, and network connections were integrated into the design from the start, ensuring a seamless fit with existing mall infrastructure.

For the Middelburg Mall project, Flying Bowling handled both in-house production and received equipment, ensuring that every component met the company’s strict quality standards. All equipment underwent rigorous performance testing, alignment verification, and quality checks in our facility to guarantee reliable operation.

Following testing, Flying Bowling implemented professional packaging and reinforcement measures, using protective frames and cushioning to safeguard all equipment during transportation. This careful preparation minimized the risk of damage and ensured that every piece arrived at the venue in perfect working condition.

The equipment was then shipped via sea freight to South Africa and delivered to Middelburg Mall. Flying Bowling coordinated logistics, including route planning and on-site delivery, to ensure smooth handling and timely arrival, ready for professional installation.

Flying Bowling’s installation team carried out substructure setup, lane assembly, and equipment integration with precision. Sring Pinsetters, ball returns, and digital scoring systems were installed and calibrated according to international standards. Lane surfaces were leveled and oiled to achieve optimal performance and consistency.
